I confess to living my life
Lifted from pop songs, poets, fools
Taking every chance I get
Wandering where I choose
Secreting in my pocket
Those most precious of jewels
Stolen seconds of Time
To be wasted with you

This is so sweet and romantic. I can just see the fingers fidgeting over the warmed jewels in secret.
Thank you, Saffron. I am gong to have to open a bank vault to stash the stash after all this enforced down-time. I am now collecting days!
‘I confess to living my life
Lifted from pop songs, poets, fools’
Oh gods I love those lines so much and I love the poem! It’s wonderful!
Shuku, Thank you – I really appreciate your encouragement. Catch up later.
I actually think I have that Language of Flowers book too! I need to hunt for it now…
It would be amazing if you did. The one here is my sister’s. A gift to her in 1976!
OH MY GOODNESS I HAVE IT!!!
Well, every line of separation comes from there! Amazing you have it too 😊
We could converse in code! Except it is well past lights out time here… tomorrow
We can INDEED converse in code – tomorrow.
Although I must warn you, my intrepid poet friend, that I am not a coreopsis, but a dahlia (as opposed to dahlia, single).
Love this!
It was interesting to see this prompt today because when the floral prompt came in every line of that poem was lifted from “The Language of Flowers”, so I had to scramble on this…love NaPoWriMo…(ish).
Yep, it’s keeping us on our toes!
On our knees…
😂
Lovely lovely that — “Secreting in my pocket
Those most precious of jewels
Stolen seconds of Time
To be wasted with you”
Thank you, Liz. Keeping the NaPo stuff short and sweet while writing my Lockdown days record
