Another night, another bug, but what is it?

A fascinating creature. It is suggested that it is part of the wasp family by the iNaturalist app people, possibly a parasitoid wasp that lives off its hosts, the larvae and pupae of butterflies, moths and their cousins.
This insect sat on the lip of the lampshade for a while cleaning its antennae, almost like a cat would clean its whiskers.
I stomached my irrational fear. Watched it for a while and when it had moved off, goodness knows where, I switched the light off and went to sleep.
I woke to a buzzing in my left ear…
…my phone alarm. Ha! I had survived the night, again.
