I would be exaggerating to claim that I have taken exercise today. Morrison’s is just over the bridge and through a large carpark. I bought two large carrier bags worth of groceries before heading back to base via the Novi-Sad Friendship Bridge.
Desk work in the morning then a Zoom session in the early afternoon. Some WhatsApp messaging. A fair bit of music played, included two albums by The Strokes, two Chopin piano concertos and something I had first heard on BBC Radio 3 last night, “Theory of Colours” by Dauwd.
I read the last chapter of “They Shoot Horses Don’t They?” and the brief biography of its writer, Horace McCoy – a Hollywood victim of his own.
Lockdown 2 Day 9 is just about done. The news that sackings have been occurring in the Prime Minister’s office in Downing Street seems like rearranging deckchairs on RMS Titanic as the UK ploughs blindly into the iceberg that is Brexit.
Meanwhile the Covid-19 coronavirus continues to claim hundreds of lives each day in the UK and thousands around the world.
Let me just check today’s date again…oh. That would explain everything.
