On the bike to Paul’s Butchers and then through the stalls to the friendly family-run, most expensive greengrocer outside The West End of London. This is a place everyone knows isn’t the cheapest place to buy fruit and veg in the city, but it’s the chirpiest and exemplary quality produce too. That’s good enough for me!
The city centre, the locals insist on calling it, was very busy. One thing I can say about the citizens is that they are rubbish at counting. Groups of adults were amiably ambling about with little regard for face marks, social distancing, or the rule of two for exercising. Slightly concerning.
