Sun barely abed
when with a gleam in his eyes
fat orange Moon wakes

On Water xix

shallow bay soon fills

tide’s return washes creeks clear

floods all memory

On Water xiv

rapid shifting shore

constantly inconsistent

respect without trust

Lunacy

she pulls at the watery cloth

tied tight to shore

although it shifts at anchor

it will not come free

so she cannot hide her arid face

from a world that won’t stop

spinning, cannot pause while there

is still a breath of air
