11th January 2024
after a while close to zero
feels warm, if sheltered
from the north-easterly
that dragged the sheet
of last night’s altostratus
between us and the stars
stretched the clouds
into grotesque shapes
ghosts of memories
wringing out the final frisson
before sleep took us
