This haiku is beautifully serene, CLP. It encapsulates the feeling of peace and contentment that comes with finding a moment of rest in our often hectic lives. The simplicity of being fed, warm, and safe, yet so profound in its impact on our well-being, is captured elegantly in your words.
What inspired you to write this haiku, and do you find that writing these short, reflective pieces helps you to find a sense of peace in your own life?
Good morning, Justin. Thank you for your comment. Haikus do a good job of forcing a writer to be concise. However, they are not always executed precisely. I am glad you felt what I hope to capture from a serene moment in good company. That is quite a beautiful thing to know.
I think the joy of the haiku is that it allows a busy life to be led without missing out on a little poetry. Think of these as the original snapshot, (alongside cave paintings and graffiti).
Thank you again for writing to me. Chris
