Norwich to Horwich
Joined by railway line and rhyme
It’s a path that’s rarely taken
If I’m not mistaken
Why venture there at all
If it wasn’t for football?

Across the black soil of Fen
Through Peak District and Pennines
For ninety minutes tension
Had I forgot to mention
The reason for this journey
Is to simply follow Pompey

Seven years we’ve struggled
The tactics first quite muddled
But now we’re on our way
And if we win this match today
We will be champions
Of the third division

Today it’s not nailed on
We have to beat Bolton
Who could catch us mathematically
Although that’s not a certainty
Lose or draw today
Will be minor delay
Before we have the trophy
Which is our destiny
