the first ambulance was called this afternoon
it was haphazardly parked
across three Residents Only  parking bays
no blue light, no alarm
engine ticking as it cooled
the paramedics attending someone
somewhere in this new block
built in this ‘village’
built for ‘Retirement Living’
built for passing through
there is no shop, no bar
just solar powered bungalows
similarly attired
smaller than to which they were familiar
the different capacity
measured by money in the bank
that swirls around the drain
of management and other fees
while here, in this Social Housing concession
a tidy construction of individual flats
I notice the entrance lobby door
opens outwards
