after ten or so days of frost
a rise in temperature
yet the boating lake still iced
for it takes time to thaw
but thaw it will

n.b. As glaciers and polar ice are doing so, day by day.

I was interested to see this on a day when gloves were not wholly necessary, the water still frozen, taking a while to change state from solid to liquid.
