Sun’s inundation
dowses ripened hawthorn buds
blossom bursts open
~
n.b. Gentle twist of fate, a trip to seek Spanish sunshine and warmth coincided with a change in the weather for the better in East Anglia, with that high pressure system locking in total cloud and consequent rain in Spain, mainly everywhere, not just on the plain. On return to Blighty, the cloud cover reappeared sure enough, but the reward for home-coming was hawthorn in blossom, great clumps of bright yellow daffodils, outshining the weary looking sheets of snowdrops, with fragile crocus shoots adding purple and white decoration to the verges. Occasional early primroses offer further colourful distraction.
