Were you to stand by a pond
Take a large rock
The heaviest you can throw
Chuck it as high as you can
Watch it stall in flight
A momentary pause
Before it plummets
Smashes through the meniscus
Sends a plume of water up
Spray everywhere
Waves will rush to the water's edge
Rocking all that lives there
Frogs, tadpoles, newts
Toads will submerge from fear
The water boatmen will be disturbed
Rushes and reeds will be shaken
Ripples will spread
Every drop of water will be affected
Do not presume to stay dry
